WFH No More With Pets 04.26.2021 0715 4 JS

With California workers returning to offices following a year of working from home, a challenge will include ensuring pets are ready to see their owners less often.

Rachel Geller, a Cat Behaviorist discusses what this could mean in the post-pandemic world and how to prepare your pets, such as cats, for these changes.

“Start off now getting up at the same time you normally would if you were to leave for work. Get up at that same time, do your morning routine, leave the house for just a couple of hours, then come back. When your cat seems okay with that, she’s eating normally, grooming herself, she seems like she’s calm and comfortable, go ahead and add a couple more hours to your time outside the house.”

Geller also went on to mention carrying keys around the house helps get pets used to their owner leaving more often than usual and recommends feeder toys to keep them entertained.
