Traffic on highway one continues, and now the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation introduces an online solution to ease congestion.
Amy Naranjo explains why commuters would take interest in the “Go Santa Cruz County” program and how it started..
“We’re expanding this commuter program for residents throughout the entire county, whether you live or work in Santa Cruz County… Whether you bike, you take transit, you carpool, and you’re doing that Covid-Safe, we want to reward you. We want to give commuters incentives to rethink their ride, to choose a more earth-friendly commute.”
Rewards for the countywide program so far include a free Metro bus pass for downtown Santa Cruz residents or employers, bike locker credit, and “downtown dollars”. Future rewards include café gift cards and other transit-oriented credits.
