Over the weekend, The City of Marina and Citizens for Sustainable Marina worked throughout this weekend to clean up trash and get members of the community outdoors.
The project consisted of removing garbage from 4 sites near Carmel and Salinas Avenue located in Marina.
Over 8,000 pounds of garbage was collected, from mattresses, appliances, baby cribs, and refrigerators that were found abandoned.
An estimated $20,000 was saved thanks to the efforts of this volunteer project that took place on Saturday and Sunday.
