Starting today, fare structures have changed for Santa Cruz Metro Transit riders.
Alex Clifford, CEO of S.C. Metro explains.
“Starting today, we have our half and free fare program. This is a program to thank our riders who have hung in with us through the pandemic and to encourage those who have not returned but can return to please come back, and then of course, attract new riders to our system and have them give us a try. For our regular fares, they’ll be half [$1.00 instead of $2.00] and for our discount [senior/disabled] fares they will be free.”, Clifford stated in an interview with KSCO.
That’s in addition to the free rides for those riding to and from a schedule vaccination appointment within Santa Cruz County. Details on this program can be found online at SCMTD.Com or by visiting their customer service booths in Watsonville or Santa Cruz.
