CDC Guideline Update 03.08.2021 0740 5 JS

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced today that fully vaccinated individuals can see each other without the need for masks or social distancing.

This announcement was made prior to the White House COVID-19 response briefing.

However, the CDC recommends continuing social distancing and mask guidelines when out in public, avoiding large gatherings, and to continue getting tested if they show symptoms related to the virus.

Nationwide, over 116 million vaccines have been distributed with 90 million doses administered.

A person who received their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is considered fully vaccinated against the virus after two weeks.
