The United Way in Monterey County is again offering free tax help to residents this year. And there is a new option for online help because of COVID-19.
United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance service has IRS-trained volunteers offering free tax prep for families and individuals for free. Participants must have earned less than $57,000 in 2020.
In 2020, United Way in Monterey County filed almost 2,000 tax returns in their 11th year of services.
