A recent report by In Defense Of Animals reportedly indicated that elephants aren’t doing so well at a local zoo, but the director of that zoo says that their elephants are all retired from circuses and carnivals, and should not been measured the same way as animals that have always been cared for in zoos are. In the meantime, local animal care experts, and humane officers in Monterey county, say they have not received any complaints about the Monterey Zoo….and the complaint that I-D-A received may well have been from an anonymous tip to P.E.T.A., that they then passed on to I-D-A.
