A driver was arrested in south Monterey county on suspicion of D-U-I, evading a police officer, and several other criminal charges. That arrest was yesterday morning after a car was finally stopped that had been traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 between Greenfield and King City. The driver, Armando Alfara Junior, was taken into custody after his vehicle crossed a spike strip, puncturing 2 of its tires, and then rammed into a patrol vehicle. The officer inside suffered only minor injuries.
