Seven Monterey county residents have been charged with Unemployment Insurance Fraud. The 5 Monterey county jail inmates, plus 2 civilians, now face felony counts of: conspiracy; making fraudulent statements in unemployment insurance applications; and money laundering. A spokesperson for the Monterey County District Attorney’s office says the total fraud exceeds $40,000 dollars.
