New State of Emergency in SJCO 21-02-02 23:33 DC

Santa Cruz County Supervisors have voted unanimously to declare a state of emergency after last week’s storms caused millions of dollars along the coast and in other areas.

The move means the county will be able to receive state and federal funds after those agencies make similar declarations.

Four areas sustained millions of dollars in damage during last week’s atmospheric river event. They include Valencia School Road, White Road in Aptos, and Schulties Road in the Summit Area.

The Rio Del Mar Flats area also sustained the worst of the flooding.
