In a statement released over the weekend by California epidemiologist Dr. Erica Pan, a recommendation to halt the distribution of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine was mentioned.
The pause is due to higher than usual allergic reactions have been reported, particularly at a San Diego-based clinic where at least 10 people required medical attention.
Health experts are advising to hold off on the use of Moderna vaccines until a full investigation can be conducted by the CDC, FDA, state, and the vaccine manufacturer.
So far, over 1.3 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the state of California.
