Santa Cruz county has joined the ranks of counties in California that have zero I.C.U. bed capacity….in fact, Dominican Hospital, which has an I.C.U. bed capacity of 16…..had 19 I.C.U. patients over the weekend…..and another surge of Covid-19 patients is expected within the next few weeks. All hospital administrators in the county are reviewing their overflow plans…..however, although they have suitable spaces, and the needed medical equipment…..they are short on medical staff.
