With the local number of cases of Covid-19 on the rise, and the hospitalizations and deaths surging, both the Sheriff and District Attorney of Monterey county, have said they are targeting gatherings of people that include those from outside those people’s immediate household. That after the mid-December Stay-At-Home order provides a more specific prohibition on such gatherings, (especially large parties), and allows officers of the law to better pursue enforcement….although enforcement efforts are still based on responding to complaints. As of yesterday (Wednesday December 23rd) there were 165 Covid-19 patients in hospitals in the county, and 180 county residents have died.
