Pacific Grove city council members have done away with the position of Mayor Pro Tem…at least for now. That after they questioned the relevance of assigning a person to sit-in for the mayor, if the mayor is unavailable. The mayor, himself, said he could not foresee a time when he would not be available. Several city council members thought it would be good to assign the title to each council member on a rotating basis, if there was a need.
