Due to the recent increase in cases of Covid-19 in Santa Cruz county, reportedly hospitals are at 80 percent capacity…..and more cases of the virus are expected in the coming weeks due to Thanksgiving gatherings. Although alternative care sites (to handle overflow patients) were initially identified and set up….there aren’t enough specialized nurses to accommodate those sites.
47 people are currently hospitalized, with 6 if those in the I.C.U.
