Monterey City councilmembers approved outdoor heating in their city….so that businesses can continue to operate outdoors. To do that city council-members had to suspend a part of the city’s fire code that bans heaters on both wharves. Last night’s decision means that businesses will have more operating space, although they do need to make sure that the heaters are far enough away from combustible items.
