The research branch of the Monterey Bay Aquarium known as MBARI will receive a portion of a 53-million-dollar grant to study the health of the world’s oceans.
The grant comes from the “national science foundation” and is given to several of the top ocean research institutions which will build an international network of chemical and biological sensors to monitor ocean health.
The floats located around the world, will collect data and MBARI will take the lead in coordinating the five year study.
