Official SJ Voter Information – Reg by Monday for Mail Ballot 10/15/20 14:48 DC

Voters should register to vote by Monday, October 19 to get a ballot in the mail

Voters are encouraged to register to vote or re-register to vote to update your name or address by Monday, Oct. 19 to be on the voter rolls for the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election.

To be eligible to register and vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on or before November 3, and not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction.

“Signing up to vote by October 19 will allow us to mail a ballot to you and will ensure you are on the voter rolls if you go to vote in person,” County Clerk Gail Pellerin said. “However, if you miss the deadline, you can still register and vote in person up until Election Day, Nov. 3.”

Voters who don’t register to vote by October 19 may find themselves having to wait in lines, and there is paperwork that must be completed before they can vote, Pellerin advised.

To register to vote or update your registration, go online to www.registertovote.ca.gov
