Over 8-thousand customers were out of power in the Capitola area around 2:45 this morning when a Mylar balloon hit a power line. The line caught fire and came down causing the outage.
At 4:48, p-g and e was able to restore most of the power but some 300 customers are still without electricity this morning.
A spokesperson for p-g and e says they’re working to get those 300-plus folks back on line as soon as possible.
