The corona virus is spreading like wildfire thru the Watsonville post acute center. Nine people have died and a total of 46 residents and 17 staff members have the deadly virus.
That number is expected to rise as the last report came earlier this week. Health officials are investigating the outbreak which began in mid September. The national guard is on hand to help the staffing shortage at the facility.
Santa Cruz county has seen 2,535 covid-19 cases, 264 are considered active, with another 2,253 recovered. There have been 20 deaths and at least 161 hospitalizations.
