Samuel Mendoza, the suspect in a Salinas murder earlier this week is behind bars this morning after turning himself in.
According to police, Mendoza is accused of shooting two people in the parking lot of a Lucky’s supermarket. One of the victims died of their injuries.
Mendoza’s attorney says that Mendoza was defending himself when he opened fire.
The 26-year-old suspect was booked into the Monterey county jail on murder and attempted murder charges.
