The cause of Friday’s fatal crash on Chualar Canyon Road (in south Monterey county) is still being investigated. The shortly-before-10 p.m. accident took place when a man lost control of his truck, that was pulling a 15-foot flat-bed trailer. The accident, which also caused a power outage for about 200 area residents, was east of Old Stage Road, and the driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
