SC Council Wants to Collaborate with Cuba 09-22-20 15:55 DC

Today, the Santa Cruz city council is expected to adopt a resolution to explore COVID-19 collaborations with Cuba.

The city is asking the county health services agency to adopt some of Cuba’s, “highly successful public health prevention methods, methods for preventing infection of health workers, and innovative treatments now being used in China and elsewhere.”

The resolution also asks Congress and the President to lift restrictions for access to Cuban medical expertise to combat coronavirus by suspending economic and travel sanctions against Cuba.

Cuba has reported 5,141 confirmed cases and 116 deaths due to COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.
