With the recent wildfires, water quality has been a concern among residents within Santa Cruz County.
Santa Cruz Water District Manager Rosemary Menard shares what the district has done for assisting in wildfire mitigation and recovery…
“We [Santa Cruz Water District] have been contributing to firefighting through those kinds of helicopter aerial resources going in, taking buckets full of water and taking them to where the fire is. We were very lucky the fire stopped coming further south. We were ready to provide additional water to other’s [water districts] if they needed.”, Menard said.
Menard also mentioned that while facilities were previously under threat, there were no reported water main breaks within her district that were related to the recent wildfires.
