If you’re suffering loss from the latest wild fires the folks at fema say you may be eligible for assistance from the federal emergency management agency.
The first thing to do is check with your insurance agency and file a claim. Here’s what you need before you contact FEMA online at disasterassistance-dot-gov. And download the application. Here’s just three of the important things you’ll need:
Social security number
Insurance policy info
Routing and account number of checking or savings account so money can be transferred to your account.
Keep in mind we are in the Covid age so all inspections will be done by phone. For security purposes the inspector will verify your identity and will then give you the first four digits of your application to verify. If you’re not given those application numbers… beware of a scam!
