On Saturday afternoon, a gray Range Rover vehicle nearly went off a railroad trestle spanning over Antonelli Pond.
The driver alleges that they were trying to deliver supplies such as gasoline and diesel fuel to neighbors who refused to leave evacuation areas up the North Coast.
The towing operator who rescued the Range Rover was originally supporting Cal Fire as well as PG&E in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and had to be redirected to the railroad trestle.
An eyewitness states that the driver was charged $1,800 for recovering their motor vehicle off the railroad bridge.
