A GoFundMe page has been created to help with the burial of a community advocate in Salinas. 65 year-old Ezzard Charles “Dreadman” McCall died earlier this month, from what appeared to have been a heart attack. Those who knew the former veteran described him as a man with a big heart, especially when it came to those in the homeless community. “Dreadman”, who was also a noted photo-journalist, reportedly remained active in the community until the day of his passing. His family wants to bury him alongside his great grandmother in Seaside, and to that end a GoFundMe page has been created at GoFundMe.com/ezzard-dread-mccall039s-Funeral-expenses.
A Memorial Service for him is slated to be held August 21st.
