Cal Fire and Hollister Fire Department crews were busy battling a brush fire over the weekend.
The fire reportedly started after 4 PM Sunday.
Shortly after, the California Highway Patrol shut down Highway 156 in the Hollister area, causing traffic to reroute at San Juan Hollister Road.
The vegetation fire spread over 9 acres before firefighters were able to fully contain the blaze.
An old vacant building was destroyed, but no injuries were reported.
The cause of fire is under investigation.
