Officials at the Monterey county jail are scrambling this morning to separate inmates who tested positive for the corona virus.
They’re waiting for test results of about 100 inmates who were in the same unit as 6 inmates who did in fact test positive.
Deputy Chief John Thronburg says it’s unclear how those inmates got the virus… but they have been separated from the main jail population.
