A freak accident at “Fort Ord Dunes State Park” landed a bay area boy in the hospital.
A fun day at the beach turned scary when an 8-year-old boy was buried under sand and couldn’t get out until his family, firefighters and lifeguards dug deep to free him yesterday.
According to the child’s family, the unidentified boy and his friends dug a six foot hole in the sand and suddenly all the sand collapsed around him causing him to be buried alive for several minutes, unable to breath.
After several minutes of frantic digging the boy was pulled from the hole and was conscious and breathing. He was rushed to the hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.
