A vehicle was discovered over the cliff over the weekend. California Highway Patrol was alerted to this sighting shortly before 9 AM on Sunday.
First responders initially were unable to access the scene by land, prompting a boat and helicopter search-and-rescue mission.
Officials with Calfire Felton as well as the Coast Guard responded to the scene and reportedly found no one in or near the vehicle.
The vehicle is believed to have been submerged for an extended period of time, and was found just north of Davenport, near Scott Creek.
