Two wildfires are currently active in Monterey County.
- The Hunter Fire, south of Lockwood, is 10% contained and has burned 130 acres.
- And the Stage Fire, located Northeast of Salinas near Old Stage Road and Williams Road, has burned 52 acres at 60% containment.
At this time, Old Stage Road remains closed as a result of the Stage Fire.
As for The Hunter Fire, evacuations remain in effect for residents along Copperhead Canyon Road as well as Bryson-Hesperia Road with 20 structures under threat.
