In state news… governor Gavin Newsom made it clear yesterday: face masks are mandatory when out in public… no matter what county you live in.
The governor issued a statewide order yesterday, following the guidance of the State Department of Public Health, that said quote:
“the use of face coverings by everyone can limit the release of infected droplets when talking, coughing, and/or sneezing, as well as reinforce physical distancing.”
The governor says mandatory masks are necessary because the numbers are creeping up and not down . The governor imposed the statewide order because some counties in the state were not making face coverings mandatory.
