The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office is investigating a Sunday fatal shooting. Shortly after 8 p-m deputies responded to reports an armed man on the 17 thousand block of Laurel Road and Highway 17. At the site, deputies found an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was a 28-year-old San Jose resident. His identification is pending family notification. The Sheriff’s Office is looking for two witnesses that are believed to be women in their 40’s who were in the area at the time of the crime.
