In Santa Clara County, the health officer is putting hospitals and large health care providers on notice to increase their covid 19 testing immediately for high risk patients.
For the most part, the county has provided the bulk of the testing but starting Monday, health officer Dr. Sara Cody says hospitals must now test health care workers, supermarket employees, mass transit workers and regular commuters… also including those who participated in recent protests.
Up til now Santa Clara county has had the ability to test 120 residents per 100,000… but the health department hopes to boost that rate to 200 per 100,000.
Currently, the county has 46 sites that offer testing.
