A 48 year-old man has agreed to a stipulated prison term of more than 26 years in prison. Rene Cruz was accused of molesting an 11 year-old child whom his wife was babysitting. Although he turned himself in back in 2012, he fled to Mexico before his jury trial, and was only re-arrested on the charges in 2018 (when F.B.I. agents found Cruz in Mexico). He was convicted of 4 Felony counts…all of which are considered Strikes under California’s 3-Strikes Law.
