A man has been arrested in connection with a 2004 murder, that took place in north Monterey county. Javier Morales Vaca, who reportedly fled to Mexico after the shooting, was identified as the man who shot and killed Ramon Villegas on the 200 block of Hall Road (not far from Las Lomas Market). Vaca, who was recently stopped in Tijuana, and turned over to U.S. Marshalls, was a known Norteno gang member from Watsonville at the time of the shooting. He also faces an outstanding warrant out of Santa Cruz county for robbery.
