Monterey SO Busts “Unlucky 7” Burg Crew 05-07-20 16:42 DC

As many of you know, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division has been quite busy lately.  Detectives have been investigating a burglary crew who have been victimizing residents throughout the Monterey peninsula.

For the “Unlucky 7”, their time started running out last week.  On 5/1/20 just before 4:00 pm, detectives were at the Casa Verde Inn on N. Fremont Street in Monterey when they spotted Miguel and Roberto Escobar, 25-year-old twin brothers from Watsonville.  They were in the company of 38-year-old Tianna Perez and 25-year-old Lacey Kielley, both from Salinas.  The four were staying at the motel.  Tianna and Lacey had warrants out for their arrest, while Roberto was on parole and Miguel was probation.

During the investigation, Detectives uncovered property stolen during recent burglaries, drugs, and fraudulent checks.

All four were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on various drug and theft-related offenses.

On 5/6/20, Detectives continued to follow-up on leads when they located 34-year-old Jeffrey Walker of Monterey along with 32-year-old Anthony Enders of Marina and 37-year-old Cristina Boatwright of Marina.

The trio were persons of interest in home burglaries which had occurred earlier.  When deputies attempted to stop the three in a vehicle, they took off.  Enders lead deputies and detectives on a high-speed chase through Salinas.  Their day came to an end when they decided to abandon their dog and run from the vehicle.  All three attempted to hide in a south Salinas neighborhood.

They were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on evading a police officer, resisting arrest, burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle and drug possession.

With the help of a couple of amazing citizens, the dog was located and is safe.  He is being well cared for by the employees at Monterey County Animal Services.

We were able to return tens of thousands in stolen property to the rightful owners.

As always, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the citizens of Monterey County for their continued support and assistance.  The support is vital to the Sheriff’s Office mission of keeping our community safe.
