A state district judge has blocked a Lodi church that wants to hold in-person services. Cross Culture Christian Center had sought a temporary restraining order against Gov Gavin Newsom that would have allowed in-person services to resume.
In denying the T-R-O, Judge John Mendez said, “this court finds the state and county stay-at-home orders being challenged here bear a real and substantial relation to public health.”
Mendez said even in times of health, the government must balance public safety and constitutional guarantees.
