Dismal news from the city of Monterey. 82-workers will be losing their jobs come June second.
Monterey city administrators say the lay-offs are due to an estimated 10-million dollar budget deficit for the remainder of the fiscal year. Employees from city services like; parks and rec, public works and the Monterey county conference center will be getting pink slips.
The biggest hit comes from the hotel tax because of the shelter in place order prohibiting travel.
