May is bicycle safety month and you may have noticed lots of bike riders flocking to the streets during this shelter in place order and beautiful weather.
Sergeant Wes Morey from the Santa Cruz police department has a few safety tips during bike safety month:
Always be aware of your surroundings, even if traffic is light
Wear a helmet and brightly colored clothing
Remember bike riders must travel in the same direction of traffic and please try and remain try and remain six feet apart.
And lastly be safe and have fun.
