Garbage men are essential workers, and they are taking the standard precautions to make sure garbage and recyclables are being collected the same as the were before the Shelter-In-Place was issued. That said, with many businesses temporarily shuttered, waste collection companies say there’s a lot less commercial waste going to landfills. That means the cost of doing business has increased for companies in the solid waste industry.
