The Commercial Crab Season is likely to be closed (south of the Mendocino/Sonoma county line) on May 15th , so as to avoid marine life entanglements. That’s because of Humpback Whales that appear to be migrating up the California Coast….heading for the Dungeness Crab fishing grounds. The closure is of the Central Management Area, which includes Districts 10, 17 and south.
