Congresswoman Anna Eshoo today announced that three Community Health Centers in San Jose as well as the Counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz were awarded grant funding totaling $4,886,025 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will be used to detect coronavirus; prevent, diagnose, and treat COVID-19; and maintain health care capacity and staffing during the coronavirus outbreak.
According to Eshoo, the nearly $5 million will help keep the doors of the community clinics open. She promised to continue working to ensure the health care providers in her District have the resources they need during “this unprecedented time.”
