While the Shelter-In-Place remains in effect, officials in San Benito county have joined officials in Monterey county in announcing a halt to many construction projects around their county. Under the revised order, the only construction that is still allowed to continue in San Benito County is for projects that are considered “Essential”. Those include projects that are: needed to maintain, operate, or repair essential infrastructure; projects associated with healthcare operations; and affordable housing projects. Projects that can continue are required to include: special conditions to keep workers safe at the site, sign and accept social distancing protocol, and keep a stringent employee safety plan which needs to be submitted to the san benito county health officer for approval.
