The updated Federal list of “Essential Businesses” includes residential real estate sales…..however, some county’s Shelter-In-Place orders will supersede the federal list. In Monterey county, the Monterey County Association Of Realtors states that:
- Open houses are not
- Properties cannot be shown in-person and agents are asked not to enter any property for …even if the home is vacant.
- All meetings must be done …no face-to-face meetings….which means it can be a challenge to get a pest report done or any other reports that require a physical inspection.
Real estate transactions can be done when they can be done electronically….including virtual tours and open houses, deed recordings, etc.
