Although patients with Covid-19 don’t generally need blood, hospital patients with trauma (and necessary surgeries) may still need blood…..and right now blood banks are in desperate need of all types of blood. That’s because most blood drives are held in the winter and spring at colleges, universities and businesses…..most of which are shuttered these days. The American Red Cross is working to replace those cancelled blood drives.
