Santa Cruz Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a murder suspect in Live Oak. On Friday, shortly before 9 p-m, deputies responded to the 8 hundred block of Brommer Street. At the scene officers detained the suspect, 35-year-old Leif Ames in front of the home. In side the residence, deputies found the victim, 35-year old Hubert Cross, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies performed CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Ames was arrested for murder and booked into Santa Cruz county jail in lieu of 750 thousand dollars bail.
