Today (Friday), the Food Bank for Monterey County and the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District are making free groceries available to families impacted by school closures.
KION Television reports that there will be two locations open from 9 AM until 11 AM today where families will be given free bags of groceries.
The two locations are:
- Los Arboles Middle School located at 294 Hillcrest Ave, Marina
- Martin Luther King Jr. School of the Arts located at 1713 Broadway Ave, Seaside.
- Both locations will have food available between 9 AM and 11 AM today.
Schools in the district remain closed through April 8 as Monterey County is under a “shelter-in-place” order because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
