School districts in Monterey county, and the Food Bank Of Monterey County, are now working together to make sure that parents can pick up breakfasts and lunches (as well as a bad of food staples and a bag of fresh produce) for their kids….from many of the school sites in the county. In just a few days this week, the Food Bank For Monterey County has met the needs of 4,000 families in Salinas. Tomorrow they will be out at Los Arboles Middle School in Marina, and Martin Luther King Junior School Of The Arts in Seaside, between 9 and 11 a.m. That said, the Food Bank Of Monterey County could themselves, use some monetary donations as their shelves are running low, after having distributed 300,000 pounds of a food just on Tuesday of this week. That was 3 times more food than they distributed the same day last year.
